Say Goodbye to Flabby Upper Arms: Get Toned with an Arm Lift in Manchester
Do you find yourself avoiding sleeveless clothing due to sagging, loose skin on your arms? An arm lift in Manchester may be the solution you’re looking for.
This cosmetic surgery procedure can help you achieve more defined, youthful-looking arms. Contact the Breast & Body Clinic in Manchester to make your arm lift consultation with our expert and friendly surgeon, Mr. Siddiqui.
What is an arm lift in Manchester?
An arm lift, also known as brachioplasty, is a cosmetic procedure that aims to improve the appearance of the upper arms by removing excess sagging skin and fat (bingo wings) and tightening tissues. This procedure can be customised to each patient’s individual needs, depending on the amount of skin and fat that needs to be removed.
The arm reduction surgery will give your upper arm a toned, defined, and contoured appearance.
Types of arm lift surgery
There are several types of arm lifting surgery that can be performed, depending on your needs and end goals. During your consultation, your surgeon can help you determine which type of arm lift is best suited to your needs.
A mini-arm lift is ideal for patients who only have a small amount of excess skin and fat. It is a body contouring procedure for those patients who have excess loose skin and are at their ideal body weight.
An upper arm lift (brachioplasty) is a better option for those patients who have had significant weight loss. This procedure removes sagging skin and excess fat while also tightening underlying support tissue for a firmer, more shapely upper arm. This can be performed as part of massive weight loss, or bariatric, surgery.
Why have arm lift surgery in Manchester?
An arm lift in Manchester can help you achieve more toned, youthful-looking arms that you’ll be proud to show off.
Many people choose to have arm reduction surgery after losing dramatic amounts of weight or due to age and genetics that cause sagging and loose skin and tissues in their arms. This can result in people becoming self-conscious of their arms and always hiding them underneath clothing, which can even cause chafing.
What are the benefits of arm reduction surgery?
Some of the benefits of arm reduction surgery include:
- Improved arm contouring
- reduced sagging skin.
- Increased arm definition
- boosted self-confidence and self-esteem
Am I a good candidate for an arm lift?
Ideal candidates for an arm lift in Manchester are in good overall health, have realistic expectations for the outcome of the procedure, and are bothered by excess skin and fat on their upper arms. During your consultation, your surgeon can help you determine if you’re a good candidate for this procedure.

What is the process for an arm lift in Manchester?
The caring team at Breast and Body Clinic is here to help you every step of the way! Here is what to expect from your procedure to remove your excess skin, or “bingo wings”:
Consultation
During your consultation, your surgeon will evaluate your arms and discuss your medical history as well as your goals for the procedure. They will help you determine which arm lift procedure is best for your needs and outline a plan to achieve your desired results.
Pre-Surgery
In the weeks leading up to your arm lift, you may need to make some lifestyle changes to prepare for the procedure, such as quitting smoking, limiting alcohol, and ceasing certain medications like anti-inflammatory drugs or herbal supplements.
Procedure
Your arm lift cosmetic procedure is usually performed under a general anaesthetic and takes between one and a half and two hours. An incision is made between your elbow and armpit, the excess fat is removed, and the sagging skin is reduced. If you have a full brachioplasty, the underlying support tissues will be tightened too.
Sometimes you may need a drain tube for the first day or so to ensure blood and fluid don’t accumulate at the surgical site.
Recovery
After your arm lift, you’ll need to take some time to rest and recover. We recommend you wear a tight-fitting garment for the first few weeks, don’t work for about two weeks, and avoid body exercises for up to eight weeks.
Full recovery can take four to six weeks, and it is best to follow the advice of your surgeon for optimal healing.
What are the risks and complications of a brachioplasty in Manchester?
Like any surgery, an arm lift in Manchester carries some risks and potential complications. Your surgeon will discuss these risks with you in detail during your consultation.
- Bleeding
- Scarring
- Delayed healing
- Nerve, muscle, or blood vessel damage
- Asymmetry
- Infection

FAQs
The recovery period after arm reduction surgery varies for each patient. However, most patients can expect to take about 1-2 weeks off work and should avoid strenuous activity for up to eight weeks.
You should avoid using deodorant for approximately two weeks after your surgery. After that period, as long as your incisions are healing and there are no open areas, you can start using deodorant again. It is best to discuss this with your surgeon first.
We strongly recommend you avoid shaving your armpits until your incisions have been fully healed for about two to three weeks. This is to avoid irritating the scar tissue or causing it to re-open, thereby delaying healing and potentially causing an infection.
You may be advised to avoid sleeping on your side for a few weeks after your arm lift surgery to prevent discomfort and swelling. Your surgeon can give you specific instructions based on your individual circumstances.
The level of pain after arm lift surgery varies for each patient. However, the majority of patients report experiencing some discomfort, which your surgeon can treat with pain medication.
Arm lifting surgery does involve making incisions, which will result in scars. However, your surgeon makes every effort to minimise scarring and may provide scar reduction treatments to help improve the appearance of your scars. This can include things like massaging your healing incisions or using a scar-reduction cream.
It is important to avoid smoking and drinking alcohol for several weeks before and after your arm lift surgery to help promote healing and minimise complications.
While an arm lift can help remove excess skin and fat, the results are not necessarily permanent. Factors such as ageing, weight changes, and genetics can all impact the appearance of your arms over time.
